Onegin National Opera Award implemented an Audience Choice Award, an award category with interactive voting

Starting on November 1st opera enthusiasts can vote in the Audience Choice Award for Best Artist and Best Play categories.

The voting process will continue till November 18th, and on November 19th during the VIII Onegin National Opera Award Ceremony winners of the Audience Choice Award will be announced alongside the winners of each of the regular categories. An artist and a play that received the most votes will be presented with a special “Favorite” award.

The Audience Choice award was implemented to allow the audience to express their appreciation and support for their favorite singers and plays. 

Co-founder of the Onegin National Opera Award Ljuba Glazkova said that only one nominee in each category can win the coveted Onegin Award, but absolutely every one of them deserves the audience's admiration and respect. Let the Expert Board choose the nominees that displayed their potential to the fullest degree and gave something fresh and new to the art of opera. But the audience chooses the artists that they loved, that captivated them and that brought them joy with their performances. In theatres, audiences vote with their applause, but on the internet, they vote with their likes. Now your vote counts too!
